Asiya Al. Sharabi is a Yemeni-American visual artist whose practice explores identity, heritage, migration, and cultural transformation through photography and alternative photographic processes. Rooted in personal and collective histories, her work examines themes of resilience, womanhood, displacement, and belonging.

Through text-integrated imagery and experimental photographic techniques, Asiya creates layered visual narratives that bridge memory, history, and lived experience. Her practice invites viewers into intimate spaces of reflection, fostering empathy and cross-cultural understanding.

Previously a journalist and photographer, Asiya’s work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, PBS NewsHour, Richmond Magazine, RVA Magazine, Musée Magazine, and Dodho Magazine, and has appeared on the cover of Yemen Today magazine in celebration of International Women’s Day. Based in the United States, her work has been exhibited internationally and continues to build meaningful connections across cultures and communities.
